South Beach Pimps GEO 2.1

South Beach Pimps GEO 2.1 Three Year Review

South Beach Pimps GEO 2.1, Scenario Paintball team gunI am reviewing my 2011, South Beach Pimps GEO 2.1. But unlike most reviews, this review is after 3 full scenario paintball seasons. Down here in the Dirty South, we play all year.  That’s a lot of paint and abuse.

We just wrapped up the Santa Clause charity event at LCP in December. I ran the marker through 3 and 1/2 cases at the event without a slip up. Over the 3 years, it was serviced once by a Planet tech shortly after the break-in period. Once a good 5 cases had gone through the marker, she became amazingly consistent. Other than replacing the ball detents once, batteries, and lubing the marker before each event, I have had to do nothing to maintain the marker.

Now Planet won’t like me telling you this, but it performs as well as anything on the field. The marker just outright slings paint like a laser. So, if you are in the market for a new gun, I recommend you by a Planet GEO. You won’t be wasting your hard earned dollars buying a Planet marker.

Below is the review I did three years ago when I got the marker.

South Beach Pimps, GEO 2.1 , scenario paintball markerThis is my first spool valve marker. I have been using EGOs and ETEKs since they were introduced in 2005, and  I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew it would be well designed and a quality marker. Planet markers always are. I was not prepared to be blown away by the marker. Out of the box, it just flat out performed. I put three cases through it with no issues at The Human vs. Zombie event. The speed was exactly what it should be, super fast. But what really blew me away was the way it felt in my hands. Super light and low.  Really nice tight feel that enhances your snap shot.  Needles to say, the finish was awesome and exactly the way Planet promised.

The real test came this weekend at the Toys for Tots charity event at Old River Paintball in Ocklawaha, Florida. The Pimps were there donating our time as referees, but my teenage son was there to play. So, I let him use the new beauty. He put a couple of cases through it as only a teenager can.  The marker was unstoppable, never a break or issue. Definitely a must have marker!
